Mental health is essential for everyone. You can't do anything else if you aren't mentally well. It is important to keep your mind healthy.

When our minds aren't in the best place, our bodies start to show signs and symptoms of stress. This can cause physical problems such headaches, stomachaches, backaches, or other symptoms. For our minds and bodies to be healthy, we need to take care of ourselves.

Students need to feel good about their mental health in order to be able focus on school and succeed academically. You won't perform well at school if you don't feel like yourself. Students with depression frequently miss class which can lead to low grades. This could lead to students dropping out of high schools and eventually going to college.

Talk to your family and teachers if depression is a problem. They can help you get all the support you need.

Not everyone with depression requires medication. Talk therapy is effective for many people. Counselors are a good option if you want to get help.

How to care for children with autism

Autism spectrum disorder (ASD), which is a neurodevelopmental disease, causes repetitive behaviors and social impairments. ASD affects 1 in 50 people worldwide. However, there are no treatments.

Around 18 months, the first signs usually start to appear in infancy. The most common symptoms include difficulties understanding other people's emotions, difficulty making eye contact, poor language development and difficulty learning new skills. These symptoms can lead to aggression, self-injury and depression.

Although there is no known cause of this condition, researchers suspect that genetics may play a part. ASD may be caused by factors like infection, stress, obesity, drugs, vaccines or alcohol. Some viruses such as rubella, measles and others may also increase the risk of developing ASD later.

While early intervention and diagnosis can make a difference in outcomes, many families still struggle with their child’s behaviour after school. The severity of symptoms and the level of support required will impact the options for treatment. Research shows that therapy focused on improving social interaction and decreasing problem behavior can make a significant difference.
